Lesson Cancellation Policy
Unexpected Absences and Last Minute Cancellations
If either scenario occurs, please contact me by 10 am the day of the lesson and we will attempt to reschedule within the following month.
Weather-Related Cancellations
This does happen from time to time and I abide by the Lake Washington School District’s decision of whether or not to cancel classes. I will offer a couple of different make up lesson dates for everyone who missed their lesson time due to weather-related school closures.
No-Shows
If the student misses the lesson entirely, or if I did not receive notification of the student’s absence by 10 a.m. that day, you will be charged for the lesson. I will be happy to give a make-up lesson at an additional charge.
Cumulative Absences
If a student cancels or misses five or more lessons in a semester, I cannot allow him or her to participate in the semester’s studio recital, as he or she will not be adequately prepared for the performance. After five missed lessons, all make up lessons will be at additional charge.
Terminating Lessons
Lessons should be considered at least a semester-long commitment (September-December and January-June.) If you must cancel before the end of the semester, you will be charged an additional month’s worth of lessons while I attempt to fill your child’s time slot.
